Our guests walk along Rota Vicentina, a network of walking trails in SW Portugal, totalling 400 km to walk, along the most beautiful and best preserved coastline of Southern Europe!
We are a micro and local company with 10 years of experience, and this has allowed us to grow our expertise focused on local sustainable development and ecological awareness. We only work with local companies, promoting highest quality along the trail. Booking with us you are contributing directly to the protection and improvement of the nature & trail. Vicentina Travel promotes packages that include hotels reservations in small B&B hotels (upgradeable), as well as luggage transport between accommodations. Adding extra nights and tailor-made proposals are also available on request.
Walking along this beautiful coastline, you will follow two different linear paths, the Historical Way, and the Fishermen’s Trail as well as several Circular Routes. You will experience two unique worlds; a living and authentic rural culture and a surprisingly wild coastline – both fully within South West Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park.
The route is fully marked in both directions, and divided in sections ranging from 14 to 25 kilometers that can be completed in a day.
At your arrival, one of our local reps will meet you at the first hotel and provide you with a welcome briefing explaining the whole tour. You will receive an arrival package that includes a Guide book, a map 1:55 000, and some additional information regarding the route itself, recommended restaurants along the way, luggage name-tags and a Voucher with all the accommodation details.

Ricardo Estêvão, born and raised locally in the town of Santiago do Cacém he created a small tour operator in the SW Portugal Costa Vicentina Natural Park, focus on adventure and self-guided holidays by his own since 2009. He´s been running this adventure and nature small business as incoming agent based in Vila Nova de Milfontes, all year round.
He´s a senior product developer concerning walking and cycling holidays only in the Alentejo and Algarve SW coast and guide of many adventure activities with more than 10 years of professional experience.
Expert in several adventure areas, like abseiling, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking among many others related with nature interaction, during the last 18 years. He gives up teaching and dedicates all positive energy to his local business promoting local economy and environmental attitudes during all nature and adventure events contributing for a sustainable active tourism.
He´s recognized has a quality incoming agent regarding self-guided and adventure holidays representing tour operators of several countries in Europe, providing personalized and tailor made services along the Rota Vicentina and all the Alentejo and Algarve coast;
