By hiking in the Austrian Alps, you can help “Share a Dream” raise funds for ill and disabled children in Ireland. This year the event takes place at 14-18 September.
Share a Dream make dreams come true for very sick and disabled children all over Ireland each year.
The idea is to give these wonderful children and their families a breakaway from their terrible illness, disabilities, hospitalisation, painful treatments, loneliness and fear by making their fondest dream come true.
We just want to bring a little magic something special into their lives at a time it would be so easy to give into depression we just want them to know they are not forgotten in their own country.
Share a Dream receives no funding and rely totally on the goodwill of the community. This September they’re organising a fundraising walk in the beautiful Austrian Alps in the Ellmau region.
Walk in the Alps – 14th-18th September in Ellmau at Wilder Kaiser
We are asking you to “Walk a Mile and Create a Smile” for very special children in Ireland and join us in Austria.
The unique location of Ellmau at the bottom of the “Wilder Kaiser”, a picturesque mountain range, fulfills all expectations you may have on a wonderful hiking holiday.
In the summer Ellmau is a perfect starting point for hiking tours in every difficulty. This variety will cover the expenses of ambitious climbers as well as of unhurried strollers. With over 400km of hiking trails, the Wilder Kaiser is a gem for walkers and hikers of all ability levels and the region lives up to its name with pristine nature, plenty of wildlife and, for those with a sharp eye, perhaps even the treat of wild blueberries and sweet alpine raspberries along the way!

Our guide was amazing, so full of knowledge, he knew the area so well … I would advise anyone to go and support this challenge, it is the most amazing thing I have ever done, probably the only time I can say I was terrified, exhilarated, excited and revitalised all in one go and I definitely will do it again!
