Whether it’s watching the native wildlife, learning about the indigenous flora and cultures or just hiking in the wilderness your guide is more than happy to lead the way and reveal all the wonders.
Accommodation in the Pyrenees
All of our Walking Holidays are based here at Villa Gracieuse and you will stay in one of our luxurious en-suite bedrooms and start each morning with a hearty breakfast.
As you depart each morning we make sure you take a picnic lunch to keep you fuelled. Once back at the house you’ll have time to explore Luchon, or relax in our Garden with an aperitif before a sumptuous 3 course, home cooked evening meal.
Walking in the Pyrenees
The French Pyrenees are in the South of France and as such the days can be warm and sunny, add in mountain passes of around 2500m and it becomes apparent that you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness and a little experience of full day walks.
We offer walks for varying abilities with the lower levels taking in more of the culture, local villages and open plains of the region. Our higher level walks take in the high mountain passes and we always keep an eye out for the rare and shy creatures living in these mountains.
You’ll meet our Guide at the Welcome Briefing on the first night and he’ll present the itinerary for the week – a mixture of circular and point to point walks. Our minibus is there to provide access to start and finish locations if required.
