A fantastic guided walking holiday in mountainous Andalucia. Many of the walks start right from your doorstep, while some require a short transfer with a 4×4 deeper into the national park. Transfers are all taken care of by your host.

You’ll be walking in the Sierras de Almijara y de Tejeda, a mountain chain designated as a nature park in Andalucia, southern Spain. These mountains form a natural separation between the provinces of Málaga and Granada with impressive mountains Maroma (2068 m) and El Lucero (1779 m).

You will find unspoilt nature here in an area with an ideal walking climate. Spring and autumn have excellent walking weather here, and even a winter walking holiday is possible in this part of Spain.

This walking holiday combines the region’s best spots and most scenic and interesting routes.

Accommodation in Cómpeta

During this walking holiday your base is the village Cómpeta. This white mountain village lies a bit hidden in the hills at the end of a long scenic valley at an altitude of just over 600 metres (2000 feet).

You’ll be staying in Hotel Balcón de Cómpeta, the only 3-star hotel in the area. Double rooms have en-suite full bathrooms, telephone, satellite TV, air-conditioning, heating and safety deposit boxes.
